There's no doubt about it that dandruff can result in social or self-esteem problems, but what if I tell you there are some cool and easy ways you can deal with this problem.

Yes, you heard me right...

Below are some natural remedies for dandruff, some cool DIY hair masks that will work wonders for your hair, as it did for me. These hair masks will not only be a dandruff remedy for your hair but it will also make your hair shiny and healthy. What else you could ask for? So let's dig right into it...



Yogurt is such a versatile ingredient and it works wonder for both face and hair. One of the easiest to do natural remedy fordandruff treatment is yogurt(Curd), lemon and honey mask. Everything you need for this mask will always be present at your home, so you don't have to worry about the laziness to go shopping.

Things you need:


2 tbsp Plain yogurt(or curd),
1 tbsp Honey,
1 tbsp Lemon juice.

Process time:
30 minutes.

Process:


1. As I said earlier it's damn easy to make, all you need is to mix all the ingredients to make a smooth paste in a clean bowl.
2. Then apply this hair mask on the scalp, working your way down to the tips.
3. Leave the hair masks for 30 minutes and then wash it off with mild-shampoo. 
Apply this mask twice a week.

Why this works:


The yogurt and the honey in the mask moisturize and nourishes your scalp, while the acid in the lemon juice helps to maintain the pH level of the scalp.  

2. Egg Mask:


Whenever hair masks come to our mind we surely think of eggs(at least I do). You can use Egg whites, Egg yolks or just the whole egg totally depends on your hair type. I don't like the fuss so I always end up with using the whole egg. Simple and guilt free.

Things you need:


2 Egg yolk(dry hair)/ 2 egg whites(oily hair)/1 whole egg(normal hair),
1 tbsp Plain yogurt/curd,
1 tbsp Lemon juice,
2 tbsp Olive oil.

Process time:

30 minutes.

Process:


1. Take either 2 egg yolks( for dry hair), 2egg whites (for oily hair) or 1 whole egg for normal hair type.
2. Mix all the ingredients to make a mask like consistency, and then apply to your roots working your way down to the tips.
3. Leave the mask for 30 minutes, you can use a shower cap to cover your hair(optional).
4. Then, wash the hair mask with cool or normal water.
Don't use hot water or you will end up having scrambled egg on your head( totally kidding).

Use this once a week.

Why this works:


Eggs are packed with nutrients and vitamins, it's such a versatile ingredient. Egg yolks contain Biotin, Vitamin A, D, E, K, and Folate. It also contains lecithin. Whereas, Egg whites contain magnesium, potassium, selenium, calcium, and phosphorous. In whole, an egg contains over 20 vital nutrients are important for hair care. While Olive oil and yogurt provides all the moisture you need for dandruff-free hair.

3. Avocado Hair mask for dandruff:


Avocados are a rich source of proteins, amino acids, and vitamins, that not only provides great health benefits but can also bless you with strong and healthy hair. No wonder why this exotic fruit has its own fan-following.

Things you need:


1 ripe Avocado,
2 tbsp Honey,
2 tbsp Olive oil.

Process time:
45 minutes.

Process:


1. Mash 1 ripe avocado in a clean bowl with the help of a fork until its completely free of lumps.
2. Then, mix the other ingredients (Honey and Olive Oil) to form a mask like consistency.
3. Apply this mask on your scalp working it down towards the tip.
4. Leave it for 30-45 minutes and then wash the hair mask off with normal water and a mild sulfate-free shampoo.

Use this once a week for great results.

Why this works:

Avocado are rich in antioxidants, and various other nutrients that soothe the scalp and also promotes long, strong and healthy hair. While the honey and olive oil provides the nourishment and necessary moisture to your hair.

4. Banana, Honey, and Lemon Mask:

This one is my favorite as I have dry hair. Bananas are great for hair and the scalp. Being rich in potassium, carbohydrates, vitamins, and natural oils, it helps in protecting the natural elasticity of the hair and also prevents from split-ends and breakage of the hair.

Things you need:

2 Ripe Bananas,
1 tbsp Honey,
1 tbsp curd,
1 tbsp Lemon juice,
1 tbsp Olive oil.

Process time:
30 minutes.

Process:

1. Take a bowl and mash 2 ripe bananas in it, with the help of a fork until its completely free of lumps.
2. Then, combine the other ingredients (honey, lemon juice, curd, and olive oil) in the bowl and mix well.
3. Apply this mask all over your hair, starting from the roots working your way down to the tips.
4. Once you applied this mask, leave it for 30 minutes and then wash the hair mask off with a mild sulfate-free shampoo.

Use this once a week for great results.

Why this works:

This is a great mask for dry hair as the Banana, Honey and Olive oil helps to condition your hair and soothe your scalp, while the acidic property of lemon fights dandruff.

5. Green Tea, and Tea tree oil Mask:

Green Tea a rich source of catechins, that helps to reduce dihydrotestosterone (DTH), responsible for hair loss. As a result, it helps to prevent hair fall. This is a great and time-saving natural remedy for dandruff.

Things you need:

1 tbsp Green tea or 1 Green tea bag,
5 drops of Tea-tree Oil,
1 tbsp White vinegar or apple cider vinegar.

Process time:
5 minutes.

Process:

1. Make Green Tea as you usually do, or just take a pan and boil a cup of water in it.
2. Pour the water in the cup and add 1 Green-tea bag in it.
3. Add 5-6 drops of Tea-Tree oil and 1 tbsp of white vinegar or apple cider vinegar.
4. Spritz the mixture all over your hair including your scalp and leave it for 15-20 minutes.
5. Then wash hair mask off with a mild sulfate-free shampoo and normal water.

Use this method twice a week for better results.

Why this works:

Green tea stops hair fall and it also helps to fight dryness of the scalp and dandruff. While white vinegar or apple cider vinegar is one of the best ingredients used for cleansing of the scalp and unclogging of the hair follicles. It also balances the pH level of the scalp.
